Top 20 BM JT Atkinson appoints MRA Marketing
Fast-growing independent merchant JT Atkinson has appointed MRA Marketing on a strategic marketing consultancy project.
MRA’s Managing Director Mike Rigby is working on key strategic marketing programmes with Jamie Atkinson, Sales Director. JT Atkinson (JTA) is a leading independent merchant and a family-run firm established in 1860. JTA is in the Top 20, with 15 branches across the North of England from Sunderland in the East to Cockermouth in the West and down to Thirsk.
MRA Marketing, a long-standing BMF service member, is a leading exponent of brand building and synchronised integrated marketing in the building industry. It is currently standing at No 1 in the Construction Marketing Awards (CMAs) league of 50 agencies specialising in construction based on its cumulative achievement to 2013 for joint wins with customers. Its award wins include Best Website; Best Use of Advertising; Best Use of PR; Best Branding; Best Use of Research; Best Campaign under £25,000; Agency of the Year, and Strategic Planning and Marketing. The CMAs are run by CIMCIG, the construction industry group of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Mike set up MRA Marketing having worked at Dulux, in senior management at national builders’ merchant UBM and as a director of a listed building materials company. His column in BMN magazine has been beating the marketing drum since 2003. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants, where MRA is tasked with raising its profile and explaining to the industry and outside world what it and Builders’ Merchants are, and why they matter.
