Supporting the crisis

Reading the news and scrolling through social media it is clear to see the significant effort and contribution of the construction industry in the national effort to fight the Coronavirus. Below are a few examples of how our customers contributed at the heart of the pandemic.

Deceuninck and Nolan install fire doors at Swansea Nightingale.

With less than seven days’ notice, Nolan, one of Wales’ leading fabricators, obtained profile and components from its systems company Deceuninck to fabricate and install 14 fire doors for the temporary NHS Nightingale COVID-19 field hospital in Swansea.

Helping Deceuninck fabricators and installers get back to work, safely!

Deceuninck developed a leaflet with guidelines for its fabricators and installers so that they could return to work and operate safely. The leaflet includes advice on stopping the spread of the Coronavirus, as well as safe working practices when working in the factory or in a customer’s home.

WCoBM supports NHS Livery Kitchen initiative during pandemic

The Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants (WCoBM) is among the 25 Livery Companies to support the NHS Livery Kitchen initiative, donating £1,000. The City of London has been at the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic, so this project was initially launched on the 20th April to provide meals for NHS staff at the Royal London Hospital. With the growing generosity of Livery Companies, the project had raised a staggering £194,500 by mid-May and was rolled out across two other hospitals in the Barts Health NHS Trust: St Bartholomew’s and Newham University. The Livery Kitchen is now operating at its maximum, delivering 600 meals a day across the three hospitals.
